Epidemiology
Focal atrial tachycardia is a relatively uncommon arrhythmia that occurs in all age groups and represents approximately 3% to 17% of the patients referred for supraventricular tachycardia ablation.[1] There is no pattern in relation to sex or ancestry. Of the supraventricular tachycardias observed in children, atrial tachycardia accounts for 10% to 23% in children with normal hearts. Prevalence is higher among patients with congenital heart disease or a history of cardiac surgery.[2][3]
