Epistaxis

The majority of patients respond to treatment, particularly to packing. Some require periodic cautery of anterior blood vessels or planned cautery of the opposite side scheduled at 4 to 6 weeks after the initial location is treated. Children seem more prone to requiring repeat cautery.
