Screening
Screening for skin cancer
There is little available evidence for efficacy of screening for skin cancer (including basal cell carcinoma) in the general population using a whole-body skin examination by a primary care clinician or patient skin self-examination for early detection.[58]
Consensus opinion suggests that annual screening and counseling about skin self-examination and skin cancer prevention is recommended for patients at high or very high risk of skin cancer.[43]
