Primary prevention

The main method of prevention of lateral or medial epicondylitis is proper ergonomic positioning and functioning in both workplace and recreational environments, especially if either involves repetitive upper extremity tasks or activities.

Secondary prevention

Methods described for primary prevention are also recommended for secondary prevention of epicondylitis.

The evidence to support workplace management of lateral epicondylosis is weak, as is the evidence to support the use of splinting.[110][111]
