The 5-year survival rate for endometrial cancer (based on US data between 2012 and 2018) by stage at diagnosis is:[230]
Localised (disease confined to the uterus): 94.9%
Regional (disease spread regional lymph nodes): 69.8%
Distant (metastatic disease): 18.4%
Unknown (unstaged): 52.2%.
At diagnosis 67% of cases are localised, 20% are regional, 9% are distant, and 3% are unstaged.[230]
Recurrence
Of cases that recur, 85% of cases of endometrial adenocarcinoma recur within the first 2 years.[132] Recurrences for early-stage disease occur at the vaginal cuff and pelvis.
