Patient discussions
Patients should be well informed about symptoms and signs that may signify recurrence: unexplained vaginal bleeding or discharge, detection of a mass, abdominal distension, persistent pain (especially in the abdomen or pelvic region), fatigue, diarrhoea, nausea or vomiting, persistent cough, swelling, or weight loss, and new-onset neurological symptoms.
The period of maximum vigilance is in the first 2 years following primary diagnosis and treatment, during which time the majority of recurrences occur.[132]
