Patients should be advised to report any likely symptoms of recurrence promptly. Local recurrence symptoms can include chest pain, dyspnoea, cough, and oedema of the face and upper extremities (suggesting superior vena cava syndrome). Distant recurrence symptoms may include weight loss, fatigue, fever, bone pain, and headaches.
