Prognosis
The outlook for patients with mixed cryoglobulinemia depends on the clinical severity of the syndrome:
Patients who are asymptomatic or with minimal symptoms generally have a good outlook.
Patients with severe disease based on the presence of leukocytoclastic vasculitis, mononeuritis multiplex, and glomerulonephritis have a poorer outlook. The mean 10-year survival of this group is estimated to be about 60%.[4]
The prognosis of type I cryoglobulinemia depends on the underlying cause.
