Patients should be provided with information about OP so that they will know what to expect from the condition and its treatment. The adverse reactions of corticosteroid therapy should be listed, explained, and understood. Patients should understand the symptoms of recurrent OP. Patients should also participate in a pulmonary rehabilitation program and be assisted to develop an exercise program.
