Primary prevention

The severity of congenital muscular torticollis, as well as plagiocephaly, can be lessened (and even prevented in the case of plagiocephaly) with carer education by the primary care physician. Education includes alternating the head position when lying supine, alternating carrying and feeding positions, and encouraging frequent supervised prone time when awake.

Secondary prevention

There are no secondary prevention measures.
