Secondary prevention
Education for the patient and family members on symptoms and circumstances of risk of adrenal crisis and how to manage dose adjustments of glucocorticoid replacement may prevent episodes of adrenal crisis.[8][60] However, studies of outcomes from intensive patient education programmes are disappointing.[38] Repeated training and adaptation to changes in circumstances (e.g., with ageing) is suggested.[61][62] All patients are encouraged to carry a steroid card or medical alert bracelet to inform medical personnel.
