Monitoring
Surveillance is recommended in order to minimise the risk of complications such as obstruction, bleeding, or cancer. The history and physical examination should be reviewed annually. Endoscopic surveillance is undertaken at regular intervals. Surveillance for extra-intestinal malignancy should also be performed. This is best established under the care of a multidisciplinary team. This team may include gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons, breast health specialists, gynaecologists, geneticists, genetic counsellors, and primary care physicians.
