Patients and caregivers should be educated regarding relevant signs and symptoms of acute and chronic GVHD, as well as any evidence of progressive disease, and to notify their physician and treating team urgently in such cases.

Adherence to routine follow-up and treatment recommendations, including drugs, nutritional support, and physical therapy, is critical.
