Parents or caregivers should be instructed to keep a symptom diary. Symptom diaries may help clinicians to decide when to start treatment and to monitor its efficacy. Symptom diaries also allow caregivers to reflect on the coping mechanisms that they use to encourage their infant to feed, and this may help to guide behavioral interventions.
