Prognosis
The prognosis for pediatric patients presenting with volume depletion is excellent, when recognized and treated appropriately. Even extreme cases of hypovolemic shock are frequently reversible with appropriate recognition and management. Pediatric patients who present with hypotension have a worse prognosis.
