The stress of pregnancy often makes information difficult to retain. Women should be educated about their condition repeatedly throughout pregnancy and re-educated at an early postpartum visit, particularly the risk of recurrence and possible need for cesarean section in subsequent pregnancies. They should be instructed to seek care early in their next pregnancy.
