Patient discussions
Patients should undergo an annual assessment, including a medical review and endoscopic screening and surveillance. The care team may include a medical geneticist, a gastroenterologist, an advanced endoscopist, a gastrointestinal surgeon, and a colorectal surgeon.
Geneticists should discuss familial genetic testing with patients; this should be offered to at-risk family members of patients diagnosed with familial adenomatous polyposis where a pathogenic variant has been identified.[28]
