Patient discussions
Patients need continual support and should understand the waxing and waning symptoms of this chronic condition, and the possibility that even with years of inactivity, a flare can occur at any time. If patients have an exacerbation of symptoms, they are encouraged to call the office for a nurse or physician telephone or office consultation. Patients should keep in close contact with their treating physician and consider a support group if the condition and its symptoms become overwhelming.
