Bartonella infection

Patients should be monitored during the treatment for adverse effects of antibiotics and response to treatment. Patients on gentamicin and fluoroquinolones need follow-up for renal function testing. Patients on rifampin should be followed up with liver function testing periodically.

Patients with neuroretinitis or endocarditis should be followed up by an appropriate specialist.
