Varicocele

A preparticipation physical exam may include a genitourinary exam and history to detect hernias and/or testicular masses and to educate adolescent boys about seeking evaluation for severe testicular pain or masses felt on self-exam.

One study found that early screening and treatment for varicocele in pubertal boys without symptoms does not appear to influence the likelihood of paternity in later life.[43]Bogaert G, Orye C, De Win G.
