Primary prevention
There are no recognized primary preventive measures for varicocele. However, clinicians should examine all adolescents in the supine and standing positions to accurately identify those patients with varicoceles and assess whether testicular growth arrest has occurred. If the testes are symmetric, the patient should be serially examined yearly through puberty and referred to a specialist if asymmetry or impaired testicular growth occurs.[23]
