Bright-light therapy should be conducted in an evidence-based manner for the treatment to be effective, and patients should obtain a lightbox that meets evidence-based guidelines from a reputable dealer.[25]​​​ The recurring nature of the condition should be discussed, together with the need for follow-up during season changes to track the onset and remission of mood symptoms. Problem-solving can be used to discuss and manage barriers to accessing evidence-based care.
