The CDC recommends periodic screening for anaemia with haemoglobin checks among high-risk populations of infants, preschool children, pregnant women, and women of childbearing age.[8]

US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF)

The USPSTF has concluded that there is insufficient evidence to recommend routine screening for IDA in pregnant women and in children aged 6 to 24 months.[60][109][110]

American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP)

The AAFP concludes that there is insufficient evidence to recommend routine screening for IDA in pregnant women and in children aged 6 to 24 months.[111]
