Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis

Management is on an outpatient basis, with emphasis on controlling blood pressure and reducing proteinuria. Renal function (urea and creatinine levels), proteinuria (measured by the ratio of urinary protein to creatinine levels), and electrolytes need to be monitored at regular intervals. Patients receiving immunosuppressive therapy require additional monitoring for drug adverse effects. These include infection, corticosteroid adverse effects, and renal toxicity due to calcineurin inhibitors.
