Patient discussions

Patients should be educated regarding possible treatment-related adverse effects. They should be advised to monitor for signs and symptoms of infection (e.g., fevers, chills, colds, coughs, diarrhoea, urinary symptoms, skin rashes, or bleeding), and to seek medical attention if they develop. The importance of good hygiene and a healthy diet should be stressed.

Patients who have completed treatment should be advised to report to their clinician if they experience fevers, night sweats, weight loss, or recurrence of their presenting signs or symptoms.
