No specific follow-up is indicated. Although long-term sequelae from a single episode of sunburn are unlikely, each presentation of even mild sunburn should be followed by education on primary prevention and the risks of chronic sun exposure. Individuals with a history of repeated sunburn warrant periodic total body skin examination.
