Primary prevention

Primary prevention of rheumatic tricuspid stenosis includes prompt and complete antibiotic therapy in symptomatic patients with suspected group A streptococcal pharyngitis.[6][25][26] Similarly, in patients with a documented history of acute rheumatic fever, secondary prevention, or prophylaxis with long-term antibiotic therapy should be instituted following existing guidelines and recommendations.[6][25]

Secondary prevention

Endocarditis prophylaxis is recommended for all patients with prosthetic cardiac valves undergoing dental procedures that involve manipulation of gingival tissue or the peri-apical region of teeth or perforation of the oral mucosa.[2]
