Epidemiology
The point prevalence of pityriasis rosea (PR) in the United States is 0.21%.[10] Incidence is between 0.5% and 2% per year.[11] PR is most common in people aged 10 to 35 years.[10][11] It is slightly more common in women, with a male-to-female ratio of 1:1.43.[4][12] Recurrences are uncommon, reported in 2.8% of cases, and often occur in people who are immunosuppressed.[12]
