Case history
A 21-year-old woman presents to an outpatient clinic concerned by some new bumps on her labia and perineum that have developed gradually over the past month. The lesions are asymptomatic; she denies pain, pruritus, and burning. She is sexually active and has had multiple partners. She states that she does not use condoms all of the time. Her most recent sexual encounter was with a new partner several weeks prior to presentation.
Other presentations
Patients may also present with symptomatic lesions in the genital area. The lesions may be pruritic or bleeding. These lesions tend to be in areas of friction such as the inguinal region or at the introitus, where maceration can occur.
