Monitoring

Other than the body weight, no long-term monitoring strictly for obesity needs to be done. Standard healthcare screening, such as blood pressure, serum glucose, and lipids, should be done per routine.

Following bariatric surgery, routine clinic visits are scheduled and routine laboratory tests are obtained to check for iron, vitamin B12, calcium, folate, or protein deficiencies. When stable, these routine clinic visits and laboratory tests can be checked annually.
