Monitoring
Patients with Eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD) due to retraction of their tympanic membranes and resultant chronic otitis media require long-term follow-up for their condition.[46][47][48] If there is any evidence of complication, particularly with regard to the development of chronic ear disease, then they should be monitored with close follow-up (6- to 12-month time frame).
