Patient discussions
Parents or carers should be provided with information about fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), including its cause, common neurobehavioural aspects (e.g., learning difficulties, problems with executive function, inability to generalise learning), and prognosis. They should be informed of community services and government and educational supports that may be available for assessing and managing their child. They should also be informed about local parent-help groups that provide information and support patients and their families.
