Tic disorders

Patients with tic disorders are at higher risk of having behavioral problems and learning disabilities than those without tics. Parents, teachers, and physicians should recognize and be continuously monitoring for these problems, so that prompt treatment can be instituted. Behavioral problems and learning disabilities usually have a bigger impact on the general well-being of the patient than the tics themselves.
