A 30-year-old man presents after being injured in a motor vehicle accident. He complains of pain and decreased vision in the right eye. His eyelids are swollen and he has a laceration on the right upper eyelid. Subconjunctival hemorrhage is present with a full-thickness corneal laceration.
Case history #2
A 78-year-old woman presents after a fall at home. She has hit her head on the corner of the table. She complains of loss of vision in her left eye and there is ecchymosis of the eyelid, subconjunctival hemorrhage, and hyphema (blood in the front [anterior] chamber of the eye).
