Monitoring
All patients require ongoing monitoring and regular review until the condition resolves. Patients undergoing a conservative management should be seen every 3 to 6 months. They should also be weighed each month to determine their growth on a centile chart and to ensure that adequate weight gain is achieved. Once the condition has resolved there is no need for patients to attend regular review.
Patients undergoing surgery should be reviewed to check their clinical progress. Parents should be advised to return for review if the patient's symptoms worsen.
