Secondary prevention

The term "syndrome" encompasses the negative emotional, cognitive, behavioral, sexual, and functional consequences of chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) and the need for a holistic approach to patient management with multidisciplinary input. Clinically, phenotyping men with CP/CPPS (describing the condition in terms of its symptoms, signs, and investigation results) standardizes patient assessment and promotes goal-directed treatment of each affected domain. This encourages multimodal therapy and is therefore associated with higher chance of treatment success.
