Advise patients:

  • To avoid medication that may exacerbate myasthenia symptoms. The list is extensive and includes high-dose corticosteroids, aminoglycosides, ciprofloxacin, clindamycin, erythromycin, propranolol, timolol, verapamil, phenytoin, lithium, succinylcholine, and botulinum toxin.

  • That for mild MG, exercise is safe and can be a part of their general health-related interventions.[160][161]

  • How frequently they will be followed up in the clinic (every 3 to 12 months depending on disease activity).
