Scabies

For patients treated using topical therapies, medication should be applied from the chin down (in infants under 1 year the hairline and scalp should be treated as well) and left on for 8 hours, then washed off. Lindane should not be used on children or on anyone weighing less than 110 lbs (50 kg). Lindane should not be used on skin with open sores. Ivermectin is taken as a single oral dose.
