Babesiosis

Patients should be instructed to complete the entire course of medication and to inform their healthcare provider if symptoms of fever, myalgias, or fatigue worsen or fail to resolve. They should be told to refrain from donating blood until advised that it is safe to do so.

Patients should be advised to avoid exposure to ticks or tick-infested areas to prevent reinfection.
