Prognosis
A significant proportion of those who attempt suicide will eventually die by suicide, usually in the same year as the initial attempt.[223] The greater the number of lifetime suicide attempts, the higher the likelihood of death by suicide. Overall, though, most people who attempt suicide do not eventually die in this manner.[223]
