Surgical excision with conjunctival autografting

With up to 5 years' follow-up, following surgical excision with conjunctival autografting, recurrence rates are <15% and patients generally do extremely well.[27]​ Complications following pterygium excision with conjunctival autografting are few, self-limiting, or easily remediable and rarely sight-threatening.[17][27]​​
