Secondary prevention

Environmental and occupational factors that affect dry eye may be addressed.[3] Career change is not usually necessary unless there are definite relationships between symptoms and work (e.g., complete symptom cessation when away from work). Removal of factors that decrease tear production or increase tear evaporation will usually suffice.[2] Taking regular breaks when using computers increases blink rates and may help prevent deterioration.[72]
