Prognosis
Patient prognosis is excellent when the specific cause of contact dermatitis is identified and avoided in the future. For allergic contact dermatitis, agents that cause a cross-reaction must also be avoided. With allergens such as nickel and balsam of Peru, dietary modification may be necessary to prevent dietary exposure.[41]
Poor prognostic factors
Factors associated with poor prognosis in occupational-associated contact dermatitis include delayed treatment, presence of chronic dermatitis, and a history of atopic dermatitis.[9]
