Patient discussions

Initially, parents are instructed in the correct handling of their infants and subsequently in a home-based therapy, guided by regular formal therapy sessions. Infants are monitored with serial physical examinations. Children's activities are not restricted, in general, except for after surgical intervention. Typically, this involves limitations on hanging from the arm on playground equipment for about 6 months after tendon transfer or osteotomy surgery. Children are permitted to participate in sporting activities of their choosing, with no adverse results being reported.[162]
