Suction-based airway clearance devices
Novel suction-based airway clearance devices (e.g., LifeVac®, Dechoker®) are commercially available in some regions. Efficacy and usability data are limited, and typically derived from mannikin and simulation studies.[73][74] One systematic review (conducted on behalf of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation Basic and Paediatric Life Support Task Force Collaborators) recommended further research (initially in the form of published case series) on the benefits and harms of suction-based airway clearance devices before their use can be supported in clinical practice.[60][75] The UK Resuscitation Council (RCUK) does not currently support the use of suction-based airway clearance devices.[76]
