After the initial evaluation for the disease, patients should have a thorough review of systems conducted at all follow-up visits (focusing on rare associations with diabetes and thyroid disease, and the possible uncommon associations with internal malignancies, particularly haematological malignancies). The few patients who require active treatment require review at approximately 3 months by a specialist to establish response to therapy. Monitoring for treatment is therapy-specific.
