Monitoring
The patient should be monitored for adverse effects of therapy. Patients on corticosteroids should be reviewed regularly, with the aim of reducing the dose and ultimately stopping treatment altogether. This is due to the risk of serious adverse effects of treatment and a lack of evidence of long-term effectiveness.[19] Patients should be assessed with magnetic resonance imaging or computed tomography 1-3 months after treatment, then every 3 or 4 months for 1 year, then as needed.[103]
