Salicylate poisoning

If deliberate self-harm or suicidal intent is a concern, refer the patient for psychiatric evaluation when stable. Take all patients with suicidal thoughts seriously and respond with compassion and in a timely and proportionate way. See Suicide risk mitigation.

Once symptoms of toxicity have resolved and the patient is discharged from hospital, no further medical follow-up is required.
