Primary prevention
Early identification and prompt treatment of conditions or disorders known to precipitate disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) reduces the risk of developing DIC.
Secondary prevention
The most effective prevention for DIC is to actively and aggressively treat the underlying disorder. Other early management to restore normality of the deranged coagulation systems may also be beneficial in preventing the development of DIC.[2]
