Secondary prevention
Patients should try to minimise risk of trauma (e.g., by avoiding contact sport and high-risk activities) if platelet count is <50-70 × 10⁹/L (<50-70 × 10³/microlitre). They should also avoid medicines that may affect platelet function (e.g., non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or aspirin) or coagulation (e.g., warfarin).
